It’s time for a bit of mindless self-promotion. Introducing The Mills Seed Starter Kit is the best way to germinate seeds since birds started dropping them out of the sky. Mills has access to some of the most skilled growers and the latest thinking regarding growing plants. So why not share what we know with you? We see no good reason not to, either.
The Mills Master Grower has been kind enough not to bite us when we let them out of their crate, and they even went as far as to explain the best way to germinate seeds. Here it is
Seeds are live plant matter, and only proper care attention will enable seeds to develop into plants. For the best chance of germination success, use specially designed plugs (like the ones included in the Mills Seed Starter Kit). Plugs are preferred because they prevent damage to the taproot. If the taproot is damaged, the plant will not grow.
Welcome to the Mills Seed Starter Kit, your complete guide to germinating and growing your plants. Follow these simple steps to create your green oasis.
Step 1: Gather your supplies
Let’s start by gathering all the supplies: 100 ml of water, 10 ML of Mills Start-R, plugs, a ziplock bag, and, of course, the seeds.
Step 2: Prepare the plugs
Mix 100 ml of water with ten drops of Mills Start-R for the four plugs. Soak the plugs in this
mixture. The plugs will absorb the mixture, and within 5 minutes, they’ll be ready for use.
Step 3: Plant the seed
Gently press the seed into the prepared hole of the plug until it’s about 1 mm below the surface. Make sure the seed is still visible. Do not cover it!
Step 4: Create the right environment
Place the ziplock bag over the tray of plugs and keep it in constant light, preferably 24 hours a day. Try to maintain the temperature around the ideal 24°C. If you don’t have a lamp, use the sun.
Step 5: Wait for germination
Now, it’s time to be patient! The seedlings should germinate after about 72 hours, but depending on the temperature, this may take longer.
Step 6: Transplanting
Once the seedling has germinated, gently remove it from the plug and place it directly into a larger pot. Use the remaining Mills Start-R to prepare 5 litres of nutrient water. Rinse the pots with this water, allowing the roots to develop optimally.
And if that’s not clear enough, check out this video narrated by a friendly-sounding fellow.
Conclusion
There are many ways you could skin a cat and more than one way of germinating a seed. However, there is a best way and that is to use The Mills Seed Starter Kit. Its success in six steps and with little effort for you.
