OMRI Listed Made Simple: The Mills Organics Range
“Organic” is one of those words that gets applied to everything from clothing to compost and animal products. But what does it mean when you see OMRI Listed on the Mills Organic nutrient product range?
It means the product has been reviewed by the Organic Materials Review Institute and is OMRI-listed for use as an input in organic production. It’s not only for show. When you see the OMRI Listed mark on Organics Base, Organics Bloom, or Mills Organic Soil, it means that specific product has been reviewed for use as an input under organic standards. To go one step further, Mills Organics are also approved by the Vegan Society.
What does OMRI Listed mean?
OMRI is the Organic Materials Review Institute. Their job is to review products like fertilisers and other inputs. If a product meets the proper criteria, it is listed in the OMRI database. That’s why we call out OMRI status on the products where it applies: it’s a quick way to verify an input without guessing.
OMRI Listed is about the product, not your plants.
OMRI lists inputs. Organic certification is a separate process handled by certifying bodies.
OMRI Listed is not for show. It’s official status.
If it’s got the OMRI stamp, it is in the database. You can find it on Organics Base and Organics Bloom, as well as in the OMRI listing for Mills Organic Soil. We also offer a Vegan all-mix. What that means for growers is that if you want to work with organic feed, but don’t want to take the risk of finding out that one supplier’s idea of ‘organic’ differs from OMRI’s. Mills has got you covered on that front. Our Organics range is straightforward, and we clearly label which products are OMRI Listed so you know exactly what you’re running.
What’s in the Mills Organics range

Mills Organics is not a treasure hunt. Our Organic gold is there for all to see, and we keep it simple. It is a small set of inputs that covers the whole cycle, with Base doing the heavy lifting and the rest supporting specific moments in the run. Like Bloom, when it’s time for your flowers to… bloom.
Organics Base, your foundation from beginning to end.
Here at Mills, we think Base is the complete, easy-to-use blend of organic micro and macronutrients. It’s designed to support optimal growth across every life cycle stage. In practice. Base is the single bottle that will build your harvest foundation. We call it Base because you can create a whole feed around it, and only add support where you think it makes sense.
Grow
When the job is building a structure early, Grow steps in. It is an organic, nitrogen-rich formula developed to support root development and accelerate plant growth. We also built it around vegetable raw materials that support enzyme and protein production, the unseen, behind-the-scenes work that keeps plants growing in the right direction.
Bloom
Bloom by name bloom by nature. This part of the organic range supports the flower phase. Organics Bloom is OMRI and Vegan Society approved, and is designed to support flower development with a unique source of organic potassium.
Cal
Calcium is not a glamour nutrient, but it does a lot of heavy lifting. Organics Cal supports plant health at a cellular level, is critical for enzyme activity, and enhances cell wall strength.
Organic Soil
Mills Organic Soil is vegan-certified and OMRI-listed. It’s made from a blend of white and black peat. It is light and fluffy, perlite-free, and unfertilised, which means maximum control over nutrients from the start until the very end.

How to check OMRI status in under a minute
OMRI is only helpful if you can verify it. Luckily, you can.
Step 1: OMRI Search
OMRI has a dedicated search tool that is easy to use. Enter the product name and review the listing status.
Step 2: Search for the brand or the product
Use “Mills” or the exact product name. If you want to be extra tidy, use the Filters option and set the material type to Products.
Step 3: Confirm you are looking at an OMRI-listed product
The whole point is that it is not guesswork. If it appears in the OMRI database, it will be listed there. If it does not, it is not.
Why do we shout about it on Mills Organics?
Because it saves you time and removes the awkward part of organic growing, the part where two brands use the same word but mean two completely different things.
On our side, we clearly indicate where OMRI applies within the Organics range. Organics Base and Organics Bloom are OMRI and Vegan Society approved, and Mills Organic Soil is described as OMRI listed.
If you care about organic inputs, OMRI provides a precise reference point for them. We want to ensure you can see it on the label before you even open the bottle.
OMRI makes “organic” measurable
“Organic” can be vague. OMRI Listed is not. It is a status that you can check, and it provides growers with a solid reference point when choosing inputs. That is why we call it out in our Organics range. Organics Base and Organics Bloom are OMRI and Vegan Society approved, and Mills Organic Soil is described as OMRI listed.
If you want to keep your organic inputs clean and consistent without playing label detective, this is the shortcut that holds up.
